Had our first trip over the Bar this year on one of the biggest tides.
Please be very careful as we only saw 3m total depth of water 2 hours after high water on last year's track.
CHT need to get surveying to find us some deeper water preferably before the Easter weekend.

There are a lot more boats around earlier in the season now.
For the amount we pay in dues surely CHT have a duty of care to survey as soon as possible in the spring!

You Welsh sailors are made of sterner stuff than I! Far too cold to be thinking about putting to sea. What do you think Sunday pub lunches by a roaring, open fire were invented for? Easter......nah, too early and too cold.

Please plough your deep keels through the 2015 approaches. I'll need 2.1m plus clearance from the middle of April, please. Or I may go around Puffin instead.

Will one of your hardy boys post when CHT releases their latest edition?

Cold!

Cold Dave.............? We had a lovely sail over to Torquay at the weekend in shorts and Tee shirts. Although it's an extra hour on the journey for us down to Devon,we seem to get much more sailing in. Salcombe bar with it's fearsome reputation was a doddle after Caenarfon bar.,and what the southerners call a big sea would just be a bit of a swell in North Wales.:)

Shorts! Are you mad or in training to become a postman?

Be careful........I thought you were applying to become a southern jessie and stay down there? North Wales misses you both!

Dave

I must admit If I had brought my shorts I would have worn them Saturday morning. Too lazy to walk the White Eagle at Rhoscolyn for a fire side lunch!

Returning in the dark to the strait I realised two things firstly that losing a stone of fat insulation leads me to need at least two extra layers of clothing! Net result is I still look like the Michelin Man. Secondly strapping the dinghy across the stern turns us into a stealth craft for those trying to follow us!

I have e mailed CHT and asked for any ideas as to where there is any more water and when they plan to resurvey? Will forward any response as soon as I get it but I am not holding my breath! Will also ask around at PD if any of the local fisher boats have found a better route yet?

James has had at least one go at ploughing a new channel for you! But he was trying to cross when a fair amount of the wreck was showing!

Can't remember the last time that I wore long trousers, must be over a year ago now. I think I'm getting hard in my old age. When we bought Laysula we fully intended to return up to North Wales last spring, we even paid our H.S.C. subs and a deposit on the mooring. However the more we sailed there the more we liked it. We spent a month cruising the Channel Isles and Brittany and have just fell in love with the place. Hopefully the house will go up for sale this year and we can move down South permanently

E-mail CHT with a request to go on their NTM list, you will then get to know whenever a buoy goes walkabout or a light bulb needs changing. I generally repost notifications on the FB "Boatie Friends" group, Colleen should pick them up then.

Easter too early? And I thought you had a posh boat with a heater & stuff like that! :encouragement:
