I have a First 36.7 in the Med where the swell has been driving me crazy with the relentless clanking of cables. Last week I searched the web and read that someone had filled the below deck portion of his mast with polystyrene beads to stop the noise. I did the same and I have to tell you it's the best tip I have ever read. My boat is now silent.
