Planning to replace the cabin sole in the next couple of months. Decision already taken to go with the teak and holly option. However looking at Robbins Timber brochure they offer two options, the teak cabin sole or the laminate cabin sole. I was planning to get the 12mm thick sheets, but somehwat unsure which option to go for? Boat has a keel stepped mast, so there is more than often some water lying around in the bilge. What would forumanite suggest?

assess the damage to the existing floor due to the water you are worried about.
Is that why you need to replace? or is there not really a problem.

Should the water coming in via the mast not drain aft through limber holes to the proper bilge?

I favour good stuff (teak) if nessesary well protected. ie painted with anti condensation paint on the underside.
