My boat is a 1992 Beneteau Oceanis 440 and the interior woodwork has always looked a bit tired with years of different coatings and varnish applied by previous owners and some manky carpet lining the inside of the hull. In winter the cabins can also feel a bit damp, so I decided to have a quick refresh.

I removed the ply cabin linings and glued carpet and set bout lining initially with closed cell foam insulation. Then took some 6mm exterior plywood and routered some shallow grooves at 50mm intervals. I then attached these panels and going to oil them with some Osmo clear satin oil. The problem now is that I will have to refresh the rest of the woodwork which is one of those jobs that takes for ever.
