Having finally got chokka with a Kabola Old Dutch oil stove, which would be better used as an anchor, I am contemplating installing a propane gas fire which could utilise the existing lined flue-pipe.
This would be my dirst encounter with LPG in boats, and I would welcome advice and comments

If you follow this link to the Boat safety Scheme chapter on LPG it will give you a good guide to how to make a safe installation.

http://www.boatsafetyscheme.com/downloads/BSS_Guide_chap7.pdf

The BSS only applies to UK inland waterways but it makes a good code of practice for others to follow.
Some will say that burning LPG creates a lot of condensation, which is true, but I have never found it to be a problem.

Good luck

Thanks for comment. I am hoping to avoid condensation by using the existing flue system and air inlet pipe.
I think I will go ahead.
Have just had to dig the mate out of the soot.[/QUOTE

What type of heater are you planning to use. On most gas fires you can only use a flue that is supplied or reccomended my the maker of the appliance.
