My C-Warm calorifier needs a replacement pressure relief valve.

The original part number is CW414 but post Brexit they seem difficult to obtain outside of UK.

Can any other pressure relief valve be used? Are these things fairly stanard and interchangeable like on domestic hot water boilers?

You dont have to use C warm, you do have to get one with the correct operating parameters in terms of bar or psi pressure they open at and obviously with the correct thread ( which you can get from the CWarm website). When I replaced mine I had a very difficult job getting the threads to seal up and stop leaks. I now use Loctite 572 on all metal threads for pipes, it enables a watertight seal to be obtained without the need to tighten the joint very tight which can often end up with the hosetail pointing the wrong way. Loctite 572 is quite expensive but very good.

These rarely " fail" ?
if your relief valve is constantly venting, have you checked your water pump on/off pressure switch.
When these fail they pressurise the entire water system causing the tank to vent water.
Pump switch is about £10.00 and easy to source from Ebay.

I'll look into that. I accidentally left the water pump on when I left the boat - normally that is not a problem. But I returned and found it had vented the entire water tank into the bilge.

Did not stop me wasting money on a new calorifier valve first tho. ! .:(
Usually hidden under the cover where the 12V Red/Black wires are.

Agree with above mentioned. I went down this road of thinking it was the relief valve…was actually the pressure switch on the pump. Was over pressurising the tank. The relief valve was just doing its job, as it turned out.
