Morning all

We're taking the plunge and buying a Digital Yacht Smarterchart AIS 500 Combo (looks like the only combined plotter and AIS on the market) and the unit comes with a special 52% discount on a C Map Max Mega-Wide EW-M009.12 Atlantic European Coasts.

The coverage of this is huge - all of Greenland and down to the Med. Incase anyone wants to see C Map coverages you can go here:
http://ww1.jeppesen.com/main/corporate/marine/lightmarine/coverage.jsp?mapType=max

So my question is why is this discounted when other charts with less coverage are not and does the EW-M009.12 have less detail, zoom-in or any other functionality.

If anyone has the EW-M009.12 I'll be grateful for any comments.

I have the C-Map M-EW-M009.10, the 12 on the end of yours signifies the year.

As far as the East Coast is concerned it appears to have as much detail as you might expect, I did pick up one strange quirk on the last update compared to the previous one, there was no buoyage shown at all in the River Deben! Very peculiar. I did not find anything else out of order. I will be updating it again this year, I believe there will be a new one issued in March.

I will have a look at the Deben to see if they have re-instated the buoys.

Useful info - many thanks. Strange no buoyage on the Deben!
