And why I am I asking this question ?

So I bought a C Map NT+ card. It doesn't fit my new plotter.

How many others have found out the hard way the difference between C Card and SD Card formats ?

Both are available as C Map NT + or C Map Max, but they are chalk and cheese when it comes to plugging in (or almost trying to hammer in !!!) the bloody things.

I have since googled to see if it is me being a complete numpty. Now I daresay some may have that view anyway, but no where is this critical difference in what otherwise appears to be a common standard card format simply explained.

There's a compatibility chart on the Jeppeson website, showing which card format and chart system is used by various plotters. It probably doesn't include your plotter though.

I knew it was an SD card, I just didn't realise that the description C Map Max wasn't sufficient to define the card sufficiently. So when the card I received didn't fit I was to say the least annoyed and there is barely any emphasis on the card formats available from C Map.

Not yet convinced C Map offers anything better than Navionics, other than Navionics won't work at all.
