As many will already be aware, Byron Alexander died recently. There are a number of very touching posts in two principal threads in the Thames and the Motor Boat Forums. Boatone (Tony Riley - General Secretary of the Thames MotorBoaters Association) posted funeral arrangements earlier today, and the Moderators feel it appropriate to post these here.

RIP Byron.
Sad to report the passing of Byron Alexander earlier this morning. Best known, perhaps, on the Thames Forum, but in earlier years often seen in Ramsgate with his Princess "Ocean Eagle".
Many boat clubs and organisations on the Thames enjoyed his hospitality and he thoroughly enjoyed seeing his river frontage occupied by boats from club meets, to ADLS to Swan Uppers.
the river has lost a character and a friend.

Byron's funeral will be on Tuesday 12th September at 12:30 pm at St. Andrew's Church, South Stoke RG8 0JL.

Following the service there will be a gathering at the Perch and Pike,, South Stoke RG8 0JS. There is no need to advise attendance, all are welcome.

Donations to Auxiliary Coastguard or Action on Hearing Loss, Bath.
