I had a complaint a couple of years ago. I booked the boat in for a new cap shroud because there a crack in the swage. They told me verbally it would £120. By arrangement I took the boat there one Sunday and left it, telling them that I was off sailing the following weekend and would come over on Friday to collect and pay. When I got the manager said "Oh dear, I forgot to tell them to do it - can you bring the boat back after the weekend" Just as well I wasn't setting off for a long trip. So I came back the following week. When I went to pick the boat up I was given a bill for £210. When I squealed they said that £120 was the labour charge and it was plus parts and VAT. I paid and have voted with my feet. The next time I wanted something done I went to Foxs who gave a written estimate, did the work immediately and were a pleasure to deal with.

I came across that web site recently but assumed that some one had had a row with BYH but didnt really want to share their storey. No one else has added to the site though.
