So after a month or so of negotiation, surveys and a bit of fixing money changed hands on Friday and I took Whitelighter to her new home in Eastbourne with her new keep Greg.

Really couldn't have asked for a better day, left the Hamble at 11.00 after a bit of pre-trip checks and a lesson on covers. Poped in to Priory bay to say hi to Roger and Derek before a gentle (/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) 28 knt cruise on the Autopilot to Beachy head.

Heavy fog meant the last 10 miles were interesting, but we got into the Lock at 15.30 and were on the berth by 16.00. Greg is a nice chap, so am sure he will look after her. She is based in the West harbour, by the wall so any Eastbourne froumites can keep an eye out!!!!

Perfect conditions for a last run was welcome, though I did feel a bit funny watching two 'strangers' locking up and doing the covers. I did give her a little pat as I left. Train h journey back to Bursledon was a little melancholy, but the new boat arrives in a couple of weeks, so no doubt that will keep me busy.

No pictures I'm afraid as my camera broke.

Hi Jez

Well - I know how you feel. One way and another you went through quite a lot with Whitelighter, so whichever way you look at it, passing her on to new owners is quite an occasion.

Good luck with the new ventures, see you in the pub soon.

Cheers
Jimmy

One epic boating chapter closes; another brave new venture begins. Must all be starting to feel very real now.... You were unlucky with the fog; we went out Saturday and had a glorious few hours out.

The end of one chapter straight into another, oh you are a gluten for punishment!!!lol.

So whats the new boat thats due in a few weeks, is it a 24 or 34???

Ihope we get as many good write ups on these forums with your new boat, as we did with your old, although not the same contents. You have been a good poster, long may that continue, Jez.

Cheers

Al.

Jez, Whitelighter II provided one of the best boating stories posted on these forums.
The new challenges will at least be met with the added confidence and experience of that "time in the Med"

Good luck with it all.

Well they do say there are only 2 good days with a boat, the day you buy her and the day you sell her /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Agree with SPE that the stories and pics of the Med adventure were excellent. Post some pics of the new boat, please

I am the importer for Westline in the UK, so I do have a massive commercial interest.
