Looking to buy a motor boat around 27 ft for use on the broads, have heard there are some bargains to be had in France.
Any body had experience or know where to look?
I'm not convinced that French prices are less. Also contracts drawn up in French with strange French laws (inheritance for instance) makes me go cold.
Stick with the UK bargains that are around at the moment.
If your looking for an ex rental Canal motor cruiser try
Connosuirs Boats who rent boats in France, them and the other companies sell off used ones all over france along the canals, generally sitting outside where they are hired from. They will send you a regular email with prices condition age and where lying, and their websites have all the relevant pics to specify your layout.
PS Hiring a canal cruiser on the Canal Du Midi was one of the best experiences of boating ever. All those grapes and that drink they make from them - ah memories.
You may have found a potential bargain (not sure how much of a bargain after shipping etc) a year or so ago when exchange rates were healthy.
Now with the Euro givig us a good kicking, the European bargains are very much here in the UK and European buyers are getting their used boats from us as we are a fair bit cheaper (boat for boat) than they are.
