UK prices...

The 7000C is around $1675 in the US. By the time you've added shipping, duty, VAT and the strange exchange rate calculation which our credit card providers use, it's likely to cost at least £1100-£1150 by the time it hits your doorstep. UK price is only £1207 inc shipping, so you might as well buy here.

Just a little bit of duty - customs import duty, then VAT on top of that, and just to add insult to injury, the carrier who will have taken the risk of the customs charges will add another fee on top of the other two. Can be cheaper if you bring it through customs yourself after a visit to the states, and declare it - they sometimes drop one or other of the charges.

And, of course...

Then there's the fact that Her Majesty's Customs & Excise can also dream up an assumed cost of shipping, and add duty to that, then charge VAT on the total. I'm still in discussions with FedEx over the assumed shipping charge on a package I got from West Marine last summer.

That\'s today\'s price...

That's today's price; my post was yesterday! But I still haven't seen anyone listing it at $1200, and charlumax doesn't seem to want to share the info.
