Thinking about buying a Wauquiez Centurion 47, 1998 model, in America and save myself a sail across the Atlantic. Two questions before I commit myself to a flight etc to look at her. Firstly any comments good of bad on the Centurion 47 or the centurion range of yachts. And secondly any issue about buying in yacht in America, any points on this issue will be helpful.

Thanks

Peter

FWIW somewhat dated info. When I was doing a number of deliveries, etc around the caribbean the Wauquiezs had something of a reputation for keels dropping off..presumably if true they've had time to fix this now!

I sailed a couple, one around 36 and one around 42, and they seemed fine.

Anyway have fun looking!

Have bought twice in the states. No problem as long as you do your research as best procedures vary from state to state and can be quite different from each other and from UK. I have a lot of sailing contacts all over USA as 2nd boat is permanently based out there. PM me and I'm sure I will be able to help with any queries, espescially if you are buying in Florida.
