I sometimes hanker after a second hand RIB. How old is too old? Should I get it surveyed? What about the outboard(s)? Are there any particular problems one should look for? Any advice gratefully received.

About 28 feet . Mainly for pottering round the Solent but occasionally to cross the channel and for camping.

That's quite a big RIB, any reason?
I've crossed the channel more than once in RIBs under 20ft. I would go for quality, rather than quantity and pick the right RIB of around 23-24ft (7 - 7.5M)
