If buying a part 1 registered boat privately how would you go about getting into and looking on the register and finding out every thing you would need to know, the same as a broker would about title register and proof of ownership. Or would you go to a broker and say I have found a boat will you sort the paper work out for me and pay the broker a few £££. Any body know about how many £££ a broker would charge for this service. Over to you learned people and thanks.

You can check if any mortgages are registered as outstanding by paying the MCA Registry Office a fee. However there may be a loan or mortgage that is not registered with the MCA, so it will be wise to do an HPA check as well. The RYA do a useful booklet that sets out the mechanics of buying boats. Do not know how much a broker would charge.

The Reg Doc, lists owners, in proportion if the ownership is shared. Letting you know if the seller is the owner or not! There may or may not be finance on a shared boat. Tx
