I am wondering if there are any downsides (apart from cost) of using extra-flexible butyl lined waste pipe* from my cockpit drains to the below waterline thru-hulls. The attraction for me is that this sort of hose is said to be much easier to get on to fitting hose-tails, and I'll be working at arms length at awkward angles in confined spaces. I'd happily pay a few quid to avoid the usual aggravation I've had trying to fit large diameter hoses. Any views/knowledge?

Well, I had some left over from a holding tank installation and used it for one of my cockpit drains which was a real struggle to bend and fit the normal reinforced plastic pipe . Easy-peasy with the Seaflow Butyl Sanitation pipe.

I don't see a downside (even with price).
