Apparently it was five deep on the pontoons. We headed north on the ebb on Saturday afternoon - Harwich was like the M25, but everyone and his dog was heading up the Orwell so we went up the Stour which was beautifully quiet (but don't tell anyone...).

5 deep !! that sounds like the Solent to me.
Friday evening we went up to Rowhedge on the Colne, a bit shallow and you have to be able to dry out, but no one else around. Then on Saturday we were thinking of going in to Brightlingsea, glad we didn't if it was 5 deep ! The piles at West Mersea were 50% occupied and after the stess of getting on yourself thay provide a lot of amusement watching others struggle!

I had my Father with me who has a boat in the Solent - he says it's too busy to bother sailing at the week-ends let alone at a bank holiday!

Sunday was probably the best days sailing I have managed this year - sunny and F4 !!
