Saw an interesting biopic on "Drama" last night about Bert Bushnell who won Olympic Double Sculls gold at the 1948 London Olympics. He was the son of John Bushnell of Wargrave and on further Googling I discovered he ran the hireboat yard at Maidenhead from the 1950's.

There's a stack of history on the Thames if we look for it.
