It's about time someone resurrected the joke about the serious Burns unit. (Not meaning to imply any similarity between the poster and a wee timourous beastie).

I think you're right. Looking at it again a quick lick of paint and it would be perfect..

Might not be much for a "Marketing Manager", but for a reasonably skilled wood butcher, such as meself, and others on this forum, there could quite a lot of mileage in it, I have seen worse brought back from the grave, one of 'em is on here, like I said, nowt so water tight etc. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll keep my eyes open so I don't bump into it when it's back on the water.
Narrow minded?? Now look. I like nostalgia as much as the next person. But these old wooden things really should be left to rot gently away and provide a natural habitat to help the UK biodiversity.
Occasionally I read Maurice Griffiths 'Magic of the Swatchways' to remind me of how good things are now compared to the old days. He has a jolly fine time in his stories except for the chapters when he is in a Manky Auld Boat that starts leaking. There's one story where he is bailing out just quick enough to get back to shore. He would have loved cruising the creek with Full Circle's shiny, plastic, lifting keel thingy.
No these MABs remind me of an old LandRover I once spent a year restoring. First time I drove it when finished I realised it was a dog of a car and wondered why had I wasted so much time on it. The same thing applies to MABs. Real wooden MABs that is, not pretend plastic smelly MABs.
Narrow minded??? I don't recall me saying anything about anybody being narrow minded........
We all get what we want from both our boats and our sailing, I was just expressing my point of view, as you are expressing yours, nowt wrong with that...................
Except that you are totally misguided and ill informed! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree. I have a wooden MAB and an old self-restored Land Rover. They've both got one thing in common - once you've been in either one, their distinctive smell sticks to your clothes for days! I also wonder why I spend so much time on both, but I wouldn't give either up...
