Just quick note to say that I had the pleasure of sailing/racing today at Burnham week for JimDew in his lovely SO35....

What a day.... 15kts... 30 degrees.... and I have to say Jim and his partner Lynne are genuinely lovely people.... coudn't have been more hospitable if they had wanted to be.... thanks folks...

And a 5th in class to boot!...

Ah..... someone saw us......

We'll we needed to bear off to dip a starboard tacker, and as the main was pinned in, with no-one on the sheet at the time, Jim struggled to bear off in time.... and we just tagged the mooring, and caught the riser round one of the rudders.... no harm, and freed in 30 secs, but the rules demand a retirement if that happens... c'est la vie....

We didn't see you - we heard the retirement on the radio. We were in your class though in Puma, for the first race but didn't do the second as lunch overan. What a fantastic day though - who would need the med if every sailing day was like this.

There were several Contessas there, but didn't pay enough attention to the names to see if any of them were 'Spangle'...

... just a tad too warm for much in the way of clothing.... although I did ask him via mobile as I wandered around the sea front trying to locate them on arrival if he was dressed up in his yellow number.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Pretty serious racing then! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Clearly the lunch break and extended evening entertainment worked as a serious racing tactic we were first over the line today. (Probably last on handicap though)!
