It's amazing that I put the call out and 3 out of the next 5 weekends are now busy (weather depending!) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

On Burnham weekend saturday I'm taking an inexperienced young lady out for a few hours during the day. Is the river likely to be very busy with events? Is up river better than downriver? Do they have a break in the events where I could make a dash for the sea and come back in at tea-time? I don't want to get in the way.

We didn't have any problems last year, just have to keep it slow & play dodge the yacht. It actually helped my eldest son learn some boat handling skills, such as go behind the big flappy things, not through them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
P.s. Try to avoid the roach.

Good call. Avoid the Roach.
It would also be very good form to avoid making wake near the racing if it is a very light wind day, as it takes ages to get the boat going again after having the airflow disturbed in the barely filled sails.

However, it is a nice spectacle to watch.
The last class begins at 11.00 each day, so if you go through the sea end a bit later, you will miss the frenetic start line stuff.
