Burnham Week - crew for racing

Hi

Anyone entering and looking for crew?

I've not done any racing for years and years and years (last time was c.1999 when I was at least 3 stones lighter, a lot fitter, and on forepeak duty). Was thinking of entering Black Magic but doubt they have a handicap big enough to accomodate my cocktail cabinet and anyway I am not insured. However, if I did enter, I'd probably need crew - anyone interested in going for the wooden spoon award?

Alternatively - anyone interested in having me along as novice racing crew?

I'm only available on the Sunday or bank hols Monday.

Sorry can't help you out as crew but regarding insurance when I spoke to my insurer they seemed happy for me to race at the local regatta without any change in premium. The only thing not insured was the mast but apparently if I had racing insurance it was only covered if it was less than a couple of years old. Might be worth a phone call to them.
 
Sorry Lisa we are full up now. Pity you didnt ask yesterday.
We will definitely be racing Saturday, then off to Tollesbury/West Mersea for Sunday/Monday.

Ted - thanks for the offer - but I have summoned up crew for Black Magic now, so we'll have a go ourselves. :eek:

Tadpole - we will have space for you if you would still like to crew with us - that's if you don't mind collecting the wooden spoon as i suspect we will be doing well to get off the starting mark and make it back with any dignity at all....

FC has already scared me with competitive talk about off-loading all my heavy stuff, empty water tanks, dispensing with the cocktail cabinet, etc. Let alone finding time to scrub off beforehand.... :eek::eek:
