Oh What a joy, to be able to wander aimlessly along the river without the hordes, the view sublime, the wildlife magnificent.Only about ten yachts on the trots. A amiable conversation over lunch, newly retired gentleman cruising his halcyon 27 to the scillies next year. Nice day , maybe next year I wont lift out and will be able to fully appreciate the natural beautyat this time of year.

John I would encourage as many boaters as possible to go to Burnham on Crouch. Keeps the places I go to a bit quieter! Paul

Prefer North Fambridge this time of year meself. Noice mornin' walk along the seawall then dive into the Ferry Boat Inn (described in a several websites as a hidden treasure, Arrr, Jimlad) for a large kate and sidney pie, chips and peas, washed down with several pints of Shepherd Neame Bishops Finger, Spitfire or Best Bitter
