Not bad trip part from the blimming east wind ...and.... err the ....rain. Those of you who have been there will know the long drag up to the Whittaker bouy before literally retracing your steps back down the Crouch on the other side of the Foulness Sands.
It is always lumpy.
Managed around 20 boats in the end. Burnham Yacht Harbour is always pleased to see visitors and we were made very welcome. Biggest boat was a Pearl 55 smallest was Coronet 32.
Latest addition to club fleet was a Fairline 50 which crossed the river from Essex boatyards to join us on its maiden voyage with its new owner back to Rochester.
Trip up saw one over heat, somebody seriously sniffing the ground ,one total failure of a nav system, one partial system failure and one of my engine thermostats could not make its mind as wether it wanted to be open or shut but we all made it.
As we were walking back to boat one evening wife spotted a pair of familiar faces.
The crew of Judge IT were wandering up for their evening refreshments.
Good meal at sensible prices in the "Swallowtail" and pleasant surprise of the weekend, RCYC organised an impromptu meal for 50 or so of us in their clubhouse.
Will post a few pix later, camera is still on boat. !
Ps.We had a little chat with a young lady called Sue, freelances for MBM, may be a bit in the mag at some future date.
Nice early start about 50 miles to go
Bit lumpy
Going Home
Money to burn
The mutinious crew
Those feet they inherited from their grandmother.
