Last weekend, had a load of friends to take out. Ooooohhh Shock horror!! The mighty Fairey is rafted off of the boat in front of mine.

Just to explain, I am in the corner where two pontoons meet at right angles. I have a pontoon behind my transom, and the other along port side of boat. I have a boat moored "sideways on" alongside mine, tied to the pontoon behind me. and one moored ahead, there is also a pontoon parallel to my boat about 40ft away on Stb'd, also full of boats, so to get out I have to do a sort of right / left / right. Except now, I've got two boats in front side by side, only leaving smallish gap, so now have to do super dooper manouvre to get in and out. Still I've got a VHF license, so it means I'm a good boatdriver dunnit!! Anyway get out and in no probs.

Went down to boat last night and the mighty 333 Fairey is on the boat mover Ahh!! ( thinks I ) must be ready to go back in, had a quick look, and did technical things, like waggling Stb,d prop and saying "Aha!" and "Mmm" (Ben nowhere to be seen.)

I stayed down last night, and when I got up this morning Bens boat is all high and dry up on blocks, and they've got the wheel off the boat mover. The wheel bearings bust, so he's broke that too.
He doesn't even moor at our yard any more!

AND HE CALLS ME JONAH!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Seriously Ben, hope you get it fixed soon. What have you found so far?

Have you bort a Corvette? (four wheel one not floating one), looked for you last night, could not find ya?

Well, deliberately not posted cos its such a long list of things wrong I am ashamed to be its owner.

Huurumpf.

discovered a leaking head gasket oh joy.

Got it all fixed and back in the water friday, saturday went and collected boat with the old man, went out for a blast with one of the Swordsman' and 31.2 knots up southamton water and 30.8 down by gps, so average 31 knots, well thats 2 knots up which I think confirms that the fule pumps are still would up and that the boat was under prop'd.

Find leak which I had been struggling to find, its port propshaft, was aware of a groove worn in it, oh bugger, but only leaking whilst on plane so not so bad can wait till winter.

Got over near Cowes, stopped and spoke to the driver of the swordsman for a mo, then agreed to go to Cowes, opened her up and port engine struggling and stbd engine going mad, investigation revelas stbd shaft is gong round but not moving boat, oh bollocks, think I have lost the prop, new one, bugger, lots of swearing, loose temper punch boat, smash hatch and hurt hand, dad says never saw me loose temper like that even as kid, carry on back to hamble notice that stbd shaft spinning, odd, prop must still be there.

So lifted out yesterday, list of things to do

change leaking fuel pump (maybe set at 145 so might later need adjusting up 10%)
replace head gasket
take out shaft and turn it end for end (port)
rebuild shaft seal assembly (port)
remove port gearbox and check/replace drive plate (stbd)
if drive plate ok send gearbox off for recon (stbd)

thats just to get back to where I was two week ago.

Anyone want a huntsman? cheap?

Yep, now got a Corvette. How did you know it was mine?. Very practical car, I can only see the doorhandles in the door mirrors, I can't see the 1st four ft of bonnet, it's got no boot, and only seats 2.
I was on boat watching Bond film. Should'a called in for a beer, I was on my Billy loansome!

Ever since he came out with us for a curry at Gunwharf, he's never been the same.

Would have rung you, but your tel No is in SWMBOS notebook.
