I'm worried, very worried. My shiny new burgee arrived this morning ( Thanks Haydn) but the Christmas morning feeling of opening the envelope was quickly replaced with horror !

The quality is just too good, thick and embroided I could'nt possibly fly this wondreous object on my sub 30ft, 2 year old boat any suggestions ?

Maybe a bit like lots of modern items. Look good at first but within a few days will fall to pieces?

Got mine today too and apart form the fabric being a bit too stiff, the stitching being sub-standard, the embroidery a bit bright and garish and a mediocre design, the rest of it's really quite good;-)

The string's looks OK though. Will come in handy for tying the boat up when the rest of it falls apart.

To keep it clean and pristine looking, I'm planning to mount mine in a glass case and screw it to a pole bolted on to the the deck. Or I might just take a couple of photocopies and fly them instead.

Haven't made up my mnd yet, decisions decisions,

You'll find that when it gets wet the stiffness will go and it'll be as droopy as a wet fabric thing. The stiffy is sprayed on so the embroidery machine can handle it better. We use it quiet a lot, its good for putting on you upholstery as well

ReStupid Buggers.

It's stiff cos it's double thickness not Viagra.
You can please some of the people all the time. Or All of the people some of the time. But not all the people all of the time!!

No one can force me to come here-----------

Re: ReStupid Buggers.

Well my well planned thread has'nt worked, everyone was supposed to shout "buy a new boat" in unison.

Never mind back to persuading my self that a new hole in the water to poor money into is worth it !!

Stupid Buggers.

Don't buy a new boat - buy lots of burgees and then you can cover the old boat so no one can see it

Cleopatra - yellow hull called Court Jester. Have you seen her ?

I got mine. Very impressed with the quality but then again it doesn't take a lot to impress me, just take a look at SWMBO. I shall be flying mine this weekend form Chichester to Gun Wharf Quay. So if anyone see's me - welcome aboard.

Politically incorrect and proud of it.

Re: Stupid Buggers.

Your right of course, probably cheaper and with better residual value ;-)
