Bunk covers

What's the best covering for bunk cushions? Our boat is a little damp, so it needs to keep moisture out. Upholsterer reccomended canvas, and is offfering a choice of two thicknesses. Thoughts?

We have had cockpit seat cushions made with canvas covers. They have been out in the rain now for 9 months and still look like new, so I guess you can't go wrong with canvas.

Not sure they would be very comfortable as saloon wear however, being fairly tough and probably not very SWMBO friendly!
