Do any sort of alarms or warning devices exist to notify us when we have forgotten to put the bung in or left the motor down when launching. These are basic mistakes but they can be costly and most of us make them at some time or another

Without trying to sound funny, the best "alarm" I know of is your eyes. Check before you reverse down the slip that the bung(s) are in and the outboard is "up".
