Looks alright, but as a regular buyer on e-bay I was horrified to see Watchdog (BBC 1) last night. Mainly designer clothing scams, but the e-bay people seemed content keep the so-called power sellers on even though proof of the scams was shown to them.
Caveat emptor I suppose
Well at least the seller didn't claim to be 'selling it for an old friend'.But just like a car advert'sold as seen',years of service(just how many years?)vendor away from desk from the 9th(the old hurry hurry),remote Anglesey,no mention of history, age, service or manual and spares...
Ebay is great for getting rid of stuff that would otherwise go to and forth between boat jumbles, imo.
Caveat Emptor
Yes, that's true .... but not always so. I bought a brand new, third hand {skip the long story} Beta 10 on e-bay for a fraction of the new price. The sellers were totally honest and the engine exactly as described and I'm very pleased with my bargain. As a buyer I did, however, take care and found out a lot about the seller, from the seller himself and from a range of internet sources, before I decided to trust him.
I've only once been "had" on e-bay and it was my own stupid fault. A lesson learned for the princely sum of £1.99 (postage free)!
