Bukh DV36 Spares

Hi,
There is an Bukh DV 36 on the boat we boat last year, and am now getting ready to do annual service. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a Bukh dealer in Ireland, so I will need to order from UK. However I was wondering if anybody here knows if items from local motor factor would do for oil, fuel and air filters and if so would you have the part numbers.

Hi decdeb,

Have PM'd you with a list of spares for the 20hp, many of which (filters etc) are directly interchangeable with those for the DV36. Others on here may be able to be more specific. If not, try posting on the Westerly Owners Association site where there's nearly always someone with the info.

Have a look at http://www.inadee.btinternet.co.uk/bukh.htm, where the site owner has some very usefull Bukh information (as an ex-Bukh engine owner).

eg. The DV20 oil filter matches that from a Ford Escort apparently....

I wish there were an Irish Bukh engine also, I'd like to get a compression test done on my DV20 as it seems not to have the poke on the water. According to Bukh there is a special fitting needed to do this (a dummy injector apparently), which Bukh UK themselves had problems getting hold of - they had to have one machined especially.

BTW, if you know any good marine diesel mechanics in Dublin, pls spill the beans!!

also, I'm sure you are aware - Bukh UK are very helpfull with queries etc. on any aspect of the engine. They've been very patient with me once or twice....
