From time to time there have been threads on these fora bemoaning the high price of this replacement part, e.g. HERE .
I thought people might be interested in my recent experience.
The two best known UK-based Bukh parts suppliers quoted £504 and £515 (inc VAT).
When I searched by Bosch part number 0330101024, two UK-based diesel parts suppliers quoted £187 and £230, but neither had stock.
What about European suppliers? Die Dieseldoktor in the Netherlands quoted Euros 615 (£519), but Energy Parts in Belgium quoted Euros 270 plus Euros 24.43 delivery (£250 in all).
With some trepidation I ordered from Energy Parts, received a prompt acknowledgement, followed shortly by notice of despatch, and the genuine Bosch part was delivered by UPS in 5 days.
I did have to pay £70.10 Import taxes and fees, so my total outlay was £320.10, and the solenoid is now fitted and working.
(I was amused by a comment on the earlier thread - "At that price you would be as well leaving the engine running until the next time you needed it.")
