Bukh DV20 Oil Pressure Switch Problem

Unfortunately I've just sheared of the oil pressure switch in my old Bukh DV20. I'm hopeful that I can get the remains of the stud out with a stud extractor but I'm looking for some advise about a replacement unit that I can sort quickly and still get sailing this weekend instead of waiting for parts delivery.
Questions:
Is the thread 1/8" npt?
what is the operating switch pressure - 11-12 psi (minimum oil pressure is 1 bar)
has any one bought a replacement from a motor factor
Is there anything I can do a 'quick fix'
will the electrics for the panel play up with the oil sender connection

Any experience or tips would be very much appreciated.

Easy outs won't work on a taper thread. We routinely have to remove sheared fittings from castings.

We use a torx bit just bigger than the hole in the fitting. Hammer the torx bit hard into the fitting remnant and it needs to be a realy tight fit, I mean really tight. Once inserted simply use a ratchet that will fit the bit to undo the snapped off part.

RS offer simple pressure switches with 1/8" NPT threads, some with adjustable setpoints. Let me know if you need help finding one and the typical pressure your engine runs at.

When I needed to replace mine I took it along to halfords and persuaded them to let me look through the ones they had to find the same thread. The operating pressure is not really critical. IIRC the thread is around 1/4" diameter but I don't know the thread type offhand. (I do have an old one onboard to measure, but that's no immediate help to you!). As long as the broken one is not leaking oil, I would simply risk it for the weekend.

With the sender disconnected the switch panel should function normally EXCEPT that when you turn off the engine you WILL NOT get the audible alarm to remind you to return the switch from STOP position to OFF.........so be careful or you will burn out the stop solenoid if you accidentally leave the switch in the STOP position.

Thanks for your help Superheat & Vic - all sorted now.

Superheats suggestion to use a torx bit to remove the old stud from the engine is a top tip - I tried an stud extractor first but that did not work then with torx bit it came out easy.

I ended up at Camberley auto factors looking through there parts catalog which suggested lots of suitable switches for old british leyland cars would be compatible - they didn't have anything but a trip to unipart had the part sorted.

Once again many thanks for the suggestions.
