Hi All,
Could anyone advise as to the possibility of setting the tappets (valve clearances) on a BUKH DV10ME whilst in situ on a Newbridge Virgo Voyager.
I know it is a simple job to complete, but will I have to remove the unit or can this be completed by any other means?
Also if the BUKH appears to run below the recommended revs at idle is it just a case of adjusting the throttle stop?
New to marine diesels as you can tell.
Thanks.

Tickover speed can be adjusted by adjusting the throttle stop located on the linkage quadrant. There are no covers to remove - DO NOT tinker with the pump unless you know exactly what you are doing. There are other reasons why the tickover might be low. Do you have a rev counter to check the tickover speed?
