The boat I have has a Buhk DV10LSME saildrive is there anybody with the same motor with details of where and if there is a anode in the motor cooling system as they it is saltwater cooled I thought there would be one. I have parts book and there is none listed but have heard of them having one, the previous owner has no knowledge either.

As you look at the engine with the flywheel nearest you and the prop shaft exiting from the opposit side of the block, you will see to the left hand side of rocker cover (on which sits the rotating decompression lever) the thermostat housing which has a couple of electrical leads sprouting out of the top of it.

Squeeze a hand between the rocker cover and the thermo. housing and feel just over the back of the engine for a large hex head bolt (in fact inside the bolt lies the zinc pencil anode which screws into it and thus is introduced to the sea water cooling galleries).

This bolt head is soft brass and needs a 22mm spanner- strongly recommend a combination spanner so that the ring end can get it started without risking rounding off the shoulders of the flats but such a spanner is usually a long beast and you will probably only be able to turn it about 1/8th of a turn at best- that is when the open ended part of the spanner comes in useful.

That's the good news and apart from being fiddly, once started it is an easy job and no water gushes out, just to reassure you.

The bad news could be that if previously the flats have been rounded off it is almost inaccessible from the flywheel end with other tools like a stud remover, or a simple hammer and drift. If you do not have good access from the rear of the engine, you may have to resort to moving the engine from its mountings to get at it

Good luck and I hope this helps!

By the way, the pencil anodes are easily obtainable here and whilst quite small I seem to recall that mine cost about £5-6 each and the manufacturers reckon on replacing them twice a season- I have yet to verify that

These guys are all refering to the heavyweight DV10, a single cylinder version of the DV20. The DV10L is a totally different engine. There is no engine anode, just the saildrive anode behind the prop.
