Very valid consideration, if you have a link switch to connect the domestic and start battery, you must be sure the shunt can handle the high amps for starting an engine. If you get a low amp shunt then I would disconnect the link switch and label it and keep a set of jump leads to essentially bypass the shunt.What about if you wanted to use your domestic battery to start the engine in an emergency? Would you want a cheapo 50 amp shunt in the mix?
