We're not sure if they're all much of a muchness but can anybody recommend a boat safety certificate examiner for us at Windsor?

It's our first renewal and for all my looking I can't our copy of the last one to see who did it. No doubt as soon as I hear his name it'll all come flooding back to me!

Thanks

We always use Paul, a very good and fair examiner.

I wouldn't recommend Roy May if you want an easy ride, but thats who I recommend.

He offers a straight-down-the-line experience, and you get a boat which deserves it's BSS certificate.

I very good and proper bloke :encouragement:

Easy ride? Its a straight case of comply or die, whats wrong with that? No, dont bother replying, its far too boring!
I know you said not to reply but.... different examiners seem to have favourite things they look upon, rarely consistent. Its a balance between following the rules against the safety/pragmatism/common sense approach. For me, I would rather someone on the stricter side of interpretation though. I had one on one of my previous boats (during the procurement process) where upon investigation later on in the life of the vessel there were loads of things that shouldn't have passed so I assume he had probably never even looked at the vessel and had done it 'mail order'! That cost me a bit to get it up to standard but was worth it for peace of mind. Even if I am only using my boat coastally I still get the BSS as part of my risk avoidance.
