The background to the Volvo Ocean Race Yacht Brunel

"Despite a contract with Brunel for another 6 weeks of relations-sailing, the V70 Premier Challenge left within half an hour after arrival in Gothenburg.
Brunel wasn't aware that Matt Allen, the final owner of the V70, has secretly travelled to Sweden with a crew to pick up the boat immediately after the finish
Several Aussies on the boat knew about this, amongst which Bindy Lockhart and Grant Wharington who played dumb after this incident. It was the only time that Grant wasn't waiting for the boat after a leg

more details here

"The boat has been seen in a European port to load supplies, complete without Brunel marking, on its way to Australia."

I don't think it would be sailed back to Australia without a refit
so the other option would be to ship it back by either plane or ship.

So, has anyone seen her or where do you think she is likely to be shipped from?

Well it missed out a rather large part of the VOR (legs 3-5), so should still have enough miles left in her to get back to aus. The others have been all the way around, and I wouldn't have thought a refit will be the first thing on the list.

she is still in Gothenburg /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
