As part of our trip to Holland this year a couple of the boats would like to go to Bruges.
Means going in through Zeebrugge which i assume is just being careful with all the big stuff around.
Any tips for journey?
select eating houses?
places to miss?
Hazards?

Going to Blankenberge first.
Bruges
Middleberg
Zierkzee.

Thanks in advance for help

Doug

We went to a pub called the Brugse Beertje, which has reputedly the largest selection of beers in Brugge. Very traditional and quite small pub, but worth trying. We are cruising there in June as part of a Holland/ Belgium cruise so might help you sample some cold one's if you are there at that time!

Blankenberge... I hate that place, make sure you go into the old marina on your port side when you enter or you will be walking miles /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hi Dougie, good to meet you at Haven. I've got a good
little touristy book on Bruge, i was there last autumn,
it's a superp Town/City to visit. See you at marina.
Cheers Tony

An excellent place if you can find it. Also try for a brewery tour and there are some restaurants which do a meal based around a specific beer matched to each dish.

I've no idea how near the centre one might moor though. Always been to the YH which has a relaxed attitude to guests with a skinful, and a bar.

How was the trip down via Yarmouth? Did you catch the bridge OK?
We are booked to launch next week so hopefully up the coast to bring the new boat 'home' over Easter weekend /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Forecast wasnt good so went down the cut.
they left a dredger half way down taking most of the river. very tight to get passed. no signs southbound. typical broads. glad i am am gone!!
at the moment plan is to go to rochester wednesday 12th back on 14th. if the weather is ok.
christening party 14th evening?!?!

We will still be around the Orwell on the 14th.
Rochester should be a good trip, hope you get good weather.
