I am getting fed up with a recurrent issue with this pc - and as it last showed itself on boatone's site I thought I would ask the experts here for advice........
basically if I click on a (some) links the window opens; then closes a few seconds later. Example - I can navigate around the galleries but if I click on the add photo's link the normal window inviting me to add 5 pics opens, then closes. The link to Nelson 34's (recent thread) works fine, until I click on a particular boat link then it opens - and closes.
Suggestions?

Are yiu sure the new window closes and doesnt just slip back 'behind' the window in front? This happens to me sometimes and its only when I shut windows down that I find them still sitting there. Dont ask me why it happens ....I dont know.....

col - thanks as usual!

I use Spybot and am reasonably happy it's not driven by anything like a tracker and thanks Tony but no!

Only other clue I have is that only windows that do not have an address bar etc seem to be affected

Do you have a pop-up blocker enabled (like the google bar for example)?. These usually block windows that are "pop-ups" ie. have no address bar etc. They normally stop the pop-up opening in the first place though.

I assume you are using IE6. Have you tried a re-install. Blame it all on Bill everyone else does.

I find Microsoft Internet Exploder a right royal pain at times. Try downloading a copy of Mozzila FireFox. Has a few good points and a few bad, bit better than ie though.

If you are running IE 5.5 have a look at this
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and download hijackthis from left bar, run, save log according to instructions, and then email me the log, or post it on the ybw sister site (Paul Lomax is admin there as well as here) http://www.webuser.co.uk

not specifically - for example the SARCA pop up on the ybw.com site appears everytime OK, and others from time to time.

Brendan/John - XP Pro with all current updates. Same set up on other PC doesn't exibit the same problems.

Will look at B's next step when next at home - thx.
