Resealed say 60% of the windows on a Broom 37 and I hope to never do it again. Wayne has a master class here Fairline Fury MK1 restoration/refurb

Its a pain to remove the windows as they will have been bonded in. We used wedges and even resorted to pushing them out with our feet, in the end we used fishing line to cut through the old sealant. Similar to Wayne we disassembled the frames (they will be leaking) and scraped out all the old sealant from the channels. You will break many screws and angle brackets taking apart the frames. We used sikaflex 291 for bedding the glass into the frames, then assemble and then installing into the ope. We reassembled and refitted the windows all at once while the sealant was still wet as there was a lot of movement in the frames and we were concerned that the windows wouldn't fit back in the opes - this was a nightmare and we refined our process to make up a jig on a piece of ply that would keep the windows the right shape. Might also be an idea to measure the diagonals across the frame before the windows com out of the boat incase the frame moves during extraction.

I think people use non setting mastic for the frame to hull bonding now as it doesn't set hard and then crack like setting sealant does. I would do 1 window at a time, starting with an easy one. Not a job I fancy repeating and I believe that there are companies that do this type of work and it might be an idea if possible.

Depends on what the windows are and how they are attached to the coachroof - framed/not framed, opening/fixed, held in by rubbers/mechanically fastened with sealant and so on.

Thanks for the info, a job im not looking forward to, i'm thinking of getting a pro to look after the job. I took out all the old timber and i am thinking of spraying on some expanding foam to the sides of the boat underneath the windows then putting waterproof panelling.(y)
