Bronze rudder bearing grease gun

Could someone please explain how to use the grease system attached to my rudder post?
The hockey puck turns in both directions beautifully and I assume delivers grease to the rudder bearings. Which way should I turn it, how often and how do I fill it?

Turning it clockwise forces grease into the rudder post; when you can no longer turn it clockwise unscrew and refill with grease. 2-3 turns once or twice a week/when you remember.

As described well above. All I’d add is to perhaps remove the fitting and make sure that old grease hasn’t solidified and causing obstruction to the flow or supply of grease. Just so you know it’s working as it should. All the best
