I have just spent three days removing this pump. It was attached with steel hexagonal nuts on threaded steel studs screwed into the aluminium engine block. I wounder if there was some electrolytic action between the bronze, steel and aluminium that caused it to rust so badly. I am pondering what metal to use for the replacement studs and nuts.
