Hi.
Anyone have suggestions on cleaning a bronze prop that's had antifoul previously but it doesn't stick, and is it actually worth painting it anyway?
thanks.
(i've posted this on MBF too)

I use an angle grinder with wire brush attachment
Brings the prop up nice and shiny very quickly and easily

I never antifoul the prop. doesn't seem to foul any quicker than friends boats who do paint theirs.

if you do use this method then please wear goggles.

Polish with 1000 wet'n'dry, used wet. Let it dry then coat with Owaltrol. To be honest I don't know if it'll work, but it's what I've done this year. I was asked if I'd fitted a new prop though /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We clean our prop by scraping off all flora and fauna. We generally don't bother to polish it. Then it gets a coat of lanolin. It works for us. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
