I am looking for a 90degree bronze or s/s elbow with a 11/2" BSP male thread at one end and either a 11/2" hose tail, or female thread at the other end.
The bronze gate valve for the heads outlet is situated below the floor section which the bowl sits on, and has very little clearance, hence someone has fabricated an elbow from a mixture of maliable iron, steel and welded in a s/s pipe section as a hose tail. this iron elbow had about three threads which screwed into the top of gate valve, and was well corroded (nearly through ) in one place.
I removed the valve as I noticed it could be turned very slightly in the hull with bit of force, and there must have been a weep of water getting in at the through hull interface.
Have stripped the valve and cleaned and greased it, and must say it seems to be in very good condition, but I would have renewed it for a s/s ball valve, but for the clearance problem.
I can not find a bronze elbow with above spec anywhere.
Any ideas?
