I'm a canvas maker in Ct., and I'm making a cover for a restored 1954 Old Town runabout.
I'm putting on some cross bows to keep the cover up, and my customer specified that the bow sockets be made of bronze (in keeping w/ the look of his boat).
Any idea what supplier may carry these sockets?
I can get ones that are made of chrome at Jamestown Distributors (and anywhere else!), but plain bronze seems to be hard to find.
Thanks, Scott

You have some casting outfits up there. Over in UK, Classic Marine. can do almost any thing. Problem is the mould/ pattern costs.

Off the shelf, no idea. There is a German Co. Toplight (or similar) that has many possibilities. Cost looks to be a problem.

Toplicht.de is the site.But,alas, in German-A

If the chromed sockets are basically bronze, an electroplater can strip the chrome and its underlying copper plating from the casting by reversing the polarity of the casting process. They can also then electro-polish the castings, as theywill be dull. Firstly, find out what the underlying metal is, then find an electroplater.
