On the way back from a good day out, son number 1 was at the controls, and one of the volvo throttles snapped off at the top! They are not that old, but I guess these things happen.

Where can I get a new one and are they self fit, or do I need to get an engineer to fit them?

Many thanks

Thanks Rich - bit too tired last night to browse the net, so I will give them a call today. Has anyone actually fitted one? Well two as I will replace them both) It looked easy enough, held on by a single bolt, but is it really as easy as nut off, swap over and nut on?

Hi im sure you will be stunned at the price of a new one, why not fit a nice new morse control about £150.00 ish if you shop around here and take it with you next time, the volvo cables will fit straight on, you might have to make a plate to go underneath depending on how much fairline chopped out to fit the volvo ones.

cheers Paul.

Thanks Paul - I will have a look at that, I am sure it will cost me at least that much to fix the broken one, and to be honest they are a little stiff at times, which is why I think it has eventually broken. I may pm you if I get stuck. Hope you had a good time in Ibiza and the weather was good (apart from the wind which I am sure was holwling at times...)

Thats why I think the Forum is great, sometimes you can get an answer that takes you a step further :-)

Found out they are Teleflex controls, and no one sells them as parts, only complete units. It has been suggested I get a single one and take the bits off (£130) or I can buy a complete dual set for £260. If one has broken I am thinking a second one may not be that far behind..

Coastal rides were knocking the chrome twin morse sets out for £80.00 + vat. I have a set and are very pleased with them.

I replaced the original corroded set with the same model. My pal fitted some replacing Volvo ones like yours and had to make a wooden backing plate as the morse base is smaller. I think Coastal rides had your type for sale too. Go to www.coastalrides.co.uk for their number.
