Help required! Is there an expert out there whose experienced with Vetus gas detector electronics? My control unit has packed up and I'm wondering what to do. It's 10 years old and now obsolete so Vetus aren't interested. The replacement model is the Vetus GD1000 which costs £350 so I would prefer to get the old one fixed.

It has power but the LED doesn't display anything so I've no idea what to do.

I assume you have the instruction manual that goes with the gauge and you have checked power to the gauge etc.
Have you calibrated the gauge for it to work?
I had a similar problem with mine when I first purchased my current boat being of 1974 vintage. I eventually found the sensor in the bilge had gone, but having said that, the gauge did show a sensor error- yellow/ orange fixed led glow-suggesting the sensor problem. I had to purchase a new sensor at a price of £50.00 which was a bit of a shock but cheaper than a replacement gauge. It now lives in a plastic waterproof box located in the bilge with just the sensor exposed.

Hope this is of some help
