Broken Hollow Wooden Mast

Does anyone know where I can get my 31' 6" wooden mast repaired? It broke in the recent gales and needs about 5 foot replaced, about 15 inches has completely disappeared! It is about five inches in diameter and hollowed out. The rest of the mast looks in good shape and we think that someone tried to right the boat but did not lift it from the hounds! I live in Essex

Any competent shipwright should be able to scarf in a new section of mast for you, it's not that difficulot a job. Must be a few around the essex area, check some of the yards around that area.
Mind you theres folk hereabouts, know the area, so will be able to point you in the right direction.
