It's encouraging to see that EA have managed to fix many of the problems 'blocking' the navigation (sunken vans and broadbeam thingies). But, but, but I'm bothered to see that the 'lectrics on the pedestals and now breaking down in multitudes. The control system has been dodgy for many years with all sorts of excuses (secret code died with the inventor / one off setup) and now a team of 'inspectors' saying - "we ain't got no bits"..

Thus I'm asking them as knows - what's really happening? Is there any hope? why has the system suddenly broken anyway.

On a positive note, I'm impressed with the dilegence of 'someone' who is updating the conditions web page twice per day (but mebe less so 'cos the news is not always good.... )

Anyone in the know care to inform a marina locvked boater on what's really happening and how long it might take??

I would say that, in the absence of PPM, stopped long ago, bits n bobs will fail after a long period of inactivity. Early season breakdowns are the norm - hydraulic hoses, logic boards, rams, collar straps, misaligned lock gate sensors. There are half a dozen different pedestal controls, some parts are interchangeable, the 'supplier died with the secret' was at Cookham that has now been replaced, I believe.

It will all turn out OK in the end and if it's still broken, its not the end (as someone said just before being shot dead).
